I want to acknowledge and thank all those who have helped to compile the information contained in this website. In particular, I am most grateful to Alex Pryor of Burlington, Ontario. Al is a cousin-in-law and he and I had not been in touch for close to 40 years - I had last seen him when I was about 10. He wrote to me in 1998 and asked if I would be interested in working together to research his wife's and my ancestors on the "Monogue" side of the family. I now live in the US and was thrilled to work with someone who had more access to Canadian records than I did. I credit him with a lot of the "leg work" to gather as many primary sources as possible. He has also taught me a lot about Canadian and Irish history and geography. And of course, it has been wonderful to get to know him again after all this time. All of our work together has been through email, so we hope to be able to "meet" each other again in person one day soon. I also want to thank several other people who have kindly sent me information on the Gibbons family.
