The gravestone states that Michael died in Sept. 1890, age 84 years.

Austin died following amputation of his left leg due to a blood clot; buried 16 Oct 1960 in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford, Perth County, Ontario, Canada. Austin is buried in #74 in St. Joseph's Section of the cemetery.
