This site describes ancestors of Zela N. Franks (1908-1995) and family who lived in southwestern Oklahoma from the time of Oklahoma statehood until 2002. Many other Franks relatives still live in the state, but with the death in 2002 of Loren Balkcom, oldest of Zela's sons, there are none now in this part of the state.
Franks and associated family ancestors are traced to Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Scotland.
