| Note* | There is some question as to whether Walter had 10 children, only 5 of them are found in the 1870 census - John, Graft, Sarah, Mary, and Robert. However, the email from Charles Galbraith suggests records kept by his mother indicated the 10 listed here. The 1860 census has not been found. The spacing and birthdates of the 10 suggest to me that this is very possible. It is possible that the oldest children had moved away or that 5 children died before 1870. | |
