This is the last will and testament of me, Alfred Marshall of Burin North, Newfoundland, Merchant and I revoke all former wills by me made. I appoint and nominate my son Richard Marshall and the Roman Catholic Priest at Burin aforesaid at the time of my death to be executors of this my will. I give and bequeath my estate in the following manner. I direct that all my dibts, dues and demands including funeral, testamentary and otherwise be first paid out of my estate. I give and bequeath one hundred dollars to the Parish Priest at Burin North at the time of my death, for the purpses of St. Patrick's Church at Burin. I give devise and bequeath all this land and property known as my upper premises consisting of three stores on the water front and shop, warehouse and garage on the road side and the land and appurtenance there to my son, Richard Marshall during his lifetime and after his death the aforesaid premises to refert to my grandson, Alfred Marshall, Jr. I give and bequeath unto my said son, Richard, all my business consisting of stock in trade on hand, also all book debts due the daid business together with all fittings, furniture and fixtures in connection with the said business including motor boat and motor truck, also five hundred dollars in Government Bonds. To my daughters unmarried at the time of my death I bequeath my new dwelling house built in 1954 with all contents. They shall have absolute discretion as to whether they propose to reside in this premises or not. If they shuld decide to vacate the house, it is to revert to my grandson, Alfred Marshall, Jr. To my daughter Sarah Grant I bequeath my old dwelling house and small store. This property is not to be sold , or any outside people allowed to dwell on it. I also bequeath to my said daughter, Sarah Grant, twenty five hundred dollars in cash. I also bequeath to my daughter Carmel White now residing in the USA twenty five hundred dollars in cash. To my daughter Ursula I giv e and bequeath my piano and sewing machine, also my life insurance consisting of a paid up policy in the Confederation Life Association for nine hundred fifty two dollars. To my grandson Terence Marshall I bequeath my lower water-side premises also a parcel of land at Riverhead, Burin. I give, devise and bequeath the balance of my money on hand, in the Bank of Nova Scotia, the Newfoundland Government Savings Bank or any other bank or banks in the following manner. To my son Richard, and to my daughters Frances, Ursula, Theresa and Rita all to have an equal share and share alike. I rquest my son Richard to pay to my daughter Ursula fifty dollars per month in goods at cost price for the use and upkeep of the home for as long as she my require it. In witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my hand to this my will at Burin North, Newfoundland aforesaid, this 26th day of June A.D. 1957. This includes land now cleared and known as Meadows. The land East and West not cleared and not left to any of my children in particular, I leave in the hands of my two executors to dispose of or divide as they may think proper for benefit of my children to be given them or value thereof the above land is known as Bally Brady farm and situated at North east side of Burin Bay Arm. I also bequeath unto my grandaughter, Beatrice (of Richard) the piece of land next adjoining my son, Matthew to the South west as marked in the grant of my Fathers, and lastly I appoint John Winter and my nephew, John Marshall to be my true and lawful executors to carry out the condition of my last will and testament. The land East and West not cleared and not left to any of my children in particular, I leave in the hands of my two executors to dispose of or divide as they may think proper for benefit of my children to be given them or value thereof the above land is known as Bally Brady farm and situated at North east side of Burin Bay Arm. I also bequeath unto my grandaughter, Beatrice (of Richard) the piece of land next adjoining my son, Matthew to the South west as marked in the grant of my Fathers, and lastly I appoint John Winter and my nephew, John Marshall to be my true and lawful executors to carry out the condition of my last will and testament.
