Cholera infantum was noncontagious diarrhea in children. It was common in bottle fed babies and possibly occurred from food poisoning from spoiled milk. Children often died within three to five days after becoming sick. When Herbert died, he was living with his mother and siblings at 336 Egerton Street in London, Ontario. His father had died suddenly two months earllier. The church record states that he was not given the last rites. |
