| Note* | 22 October 1884 | The French version of the Marriage record in the Drouin Collection, states that Patrick is the son of John Flynn and Marie Callaghan. The translated version by Monaghan lists the parents as Patrick Flynn and Ellen Hurson. (Ellen married a Maurice Flynn in 1865 - this appears to be after the birth of Patrick - thought to be about 1862). Was he the son of Maurice and his first wife and who was Marie Callaghan? Also the French version states that Mary Jane Atkins is the daughter of Thomas Atkins and Marie McLeod. The translated Monaghan version states mother was Jane McCoubrey. The French version which was kept in Quebec City at the Bishop's Palace was often filled in at a later date - so it's hard to tell which version is correct., Principal=John Patrick Flynn |
