| Birth* | 1870 | Canada |
| Note* | 1871 | Oxford County, Ontario, Canada, According to the 1871 census, Henry, the son of James and Anastasia Hanlon, was deceased at age of 4 months. This is either a mistake or the Henry Hanlon, who also was born in 1870, and married Catherine Sage was not the son of Henry and Anastasia. However, I could not find any gravestones for the infant Henry and James and Anastasia had them for their other children who predeceased them. Another possibility is that they named another child, Henry, after the first one died. |
| Marriage* | 23 November 1898 | Catholic Church, Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada, The Ontario Marriage Records state that Henry Hanlon, 27, a farmer, born in Canada, living in North Oxford, son of James Hanlon and Ann C. Talbot, married Katie Sage, 27, also born in Canada, living in Ingersoll, daughter of Redmond Sage and Ellen O'Callaghan married in the Catholic Church in Ingersoll on the 23rd of November, 1898. The witness was Joseph Hennessy of North Oxford and Bessy Sage of Ingersoll. Many years later when Catherine died, her obituary stated that Henry and she lived in North Oxford Township during all their years of marriage., Principal=Catherine Sage |

| Death* | 4 February 1942 | 190 John Street, Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada, The following obituary appeared in the Ingersoll Tribune on 12 Feb 1942: JAMES HANLON SUCCUMBS SUDDENLY James Hanlon, dearly beloved husband of Minnie Frezell, passed away suddenly from a heart attack at the family residence, 190 John Street, Ingersoll, shortly after noon, on Wednesday, February 4th. The news of his sudden death came as a distinct shock to members of his family and a wide circle of friends, as he was in apparent good health up to the time he was stricken, being down town on Tuesday afternoon. Deceased was born in North Oxford Township and was in his 74th year. He had been a resident of that township and farmed successfully there all his life until coming to Ingersoll about five years ago to retire. He was widely known in North Oxford Township and the town of Ingersoll and had a host of friends who will join in extending their sincere sympathy to his widow and family. He was a member and faithful attendant of the Church of the Sacred Heart, and belonged to the Holy Name Society and Catholic Order of Forresters. Surviving to mourn his passing, besides his widow, are three sons, Edward Hanlon and Joseph Hanlon, North Oxford; Thomas Hanlon, at home; four daughters, Mrs. L. A. MacDonald, Ingersoll; Mrs. W. L. Kramer, KItchener; Mrs. Gus Fraser, North Oxford; and Miss Catherine Hanlon, who is teaching at Amherstburg, also one sister, Mrs. Robert MacDonald, Ingersoll and one brother, Henry Hanlon, North Oxford. The funeral was held from the family residence, 190 John Street, on Friday morning at 8:15 o'clock to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Ingersoll, where requiem mass was solemnized by the pastor of the church, Rev. Fataher A. Fuerth. The service was very largely attended and there were many beautiful floral tributes and a profusion of mass cards in evidence as tokens of the high esteem in which deceased was held. Internment was made in the Ingersoll R. C. Cemetery, the pallbeareres being Messrs. James J. Knapp, William Hammley, Thomas Hennessey, Charles W. Riley, Dr. H. G. Furlong and Harry G. McMulkin. |
