He served as truck foreman, with two other men, and did repairs on wooden bridges. Probably after 1951 but date unknown, he took the job of division supervisor for southwest Oklahoma, working in Clinton while still living in Sayre. He later took the job of foreman of the Beckham County Division. He was responsible for road maintenance in the county except for the interstate highway which had a separate crew.
