Research Note*A Rootsweb tree, Hutto-Martin, in 2002 by researcher Nelda Martin ([email protected]) has:
William Galloway ... sold land in SC in 1805, moved to Henry County, AL, sometime between 1821 and 1826. In 1837 he and his son, Jesse Washington, bought land side by side on what is now Hwy 431 just south of Lawrenceville. They later moved south near Capps. In the 1850 census he was living with Jesse Washington.
Birth*circa 1780Darlington District, South Carolina, USA1,2
(Witness) NoteAbraham Galloway; Probable children of Abraham Galloway #1821 are Abraham Galloway #1912 on this site, Eleazer Galloway #1312, and William Galloway #1442. I have not found the paper records to confirm this family and have not found confirmation by other researchers. However, dna tests match my family (descendants of Eleazer Galloway) with a descendant of Abraham Galloway #1912, called Abraham Galloway Jr. in most public trees. If this Abraham is the son of Abraham #1821 then the strong implication is that Eleazer and Abraham Jr. are brothers and that Abraham #1821 is their father, mother unknown.

Family

Jane (?) b. c 1827
Child 1.James Eleazor Galloway5 b. 1849, d. 9 Jan 1891
Birth*circa 1828Alabama, USA5
Marriage*circa 1849Jane (?); USA; W. E. Galaway and Jane Galaway, and child Elly, lived in 1850 in the household of Anna Parrish age 70. W. E. Galaway was listed as having married within the year.6
(Resident) Census2 November 1850Anna Parrish, AL Henry Co Census 1850; Southern District, HH #961, Henry County, Alabama, USA; Household was next to Eleazer Galloway family.
Complete household:
"Anna Parrish", age 70, born in SC;
"WE Galaway", male age 22, farmer, born in Alabama, married within the year, attended school within the year;
"Jane Galaway", age 23, born in Georgia;
"Elly Galaway", male age 4, born in Alabama.

WE Galloway is William E. Galloway, Eleazer and Leaty Galloway's son, living with Leaty's older sister Anna Parrish. The young boy Elly appears to be listed as age 4 (legibility) but I suspect this is a census error and he is really a baby and son of the recently married WE and Jane, and is named after his grandfather Eleazer who at times went by Elly.6
Death*before 1864Eleazer Galloway estate papers identify him as deceased. Warren's book says he lived in Neshoba County, Mississippi4,7
