The will refers to his wife and children but does not name them. Neighbor and possible relative Ira T. Hobbs was executor, John Christopher Baldwin (son), and Jesse C. Hobbs (son of Ira Hobbs) were witnesses.
A later (1853) guardianship order names John C. Baldwin as guardian of the orphans of Christopher Baldwin, named: William J. Baldwin, Barney C. Baldwin, Bryan F. Baldwin, and Moses C. Baldwin.2
