Commentit's possible that this Enoch is a son of Moses Matthews (#2426) of Virginia, Sampson Co, NC, and then Darlington District, SC. This conjecture is based on his birth 1792 in SC, and naming his first son Moses. Some of the others in this family moved from SC to Dale County, AL.

However, Nancy's birth place is reported Georgia in this census, while Nancy Jane McCann was born in Ireland c1781];
