[this is likely Nancy Jane McCann Preston, widow of David Preston - if so, supports the theory that David Preston / Nancy Jane McCann born Ireland were Thomas W.'s parents. Reported age 85 is consistent with Nancy Preston's reported age in 1850, in household with David Preston. However, Nancy's birth place is reported Georgia in this census, while Nancy Jane McCann was born in Ireland c1781];

The two Mathews in the same household on the plantation of W. C. Cleaveland in 1850 may have been Romulus and Remus, orphan brothers who appeared in loose estate papers of Crawford County in the Georgia Archives, with appointment of a guardian. Need to go through the papers again to find who was the guardian and deceased parent.
