Event*29 November 1794South Carolina, USA, petitioned the South Carolina legislature requesting compensation for horses taken for use during the Revolutionary War|| He stated that an officer in the American Army under the command of General Gates took a mare and a gelding both of the value of about 25 pounds, and that a Captain James Heier took another gelding. He stated that he had at all times resided outside of this state since the war with Great Britain, since the first of April 1772, and that he was therefore ignorant of the times prescribed by law for making claims.2
