My mother, Loretta, remembers the boat ride to Newfoundland and says that Catherine, her mother, was sick for the whole trip, because she was pregnant, so the she and her sister, Marguerite, had to take care of George who was just 1 year old. It is possible that she also went to help out her mother as Patrick Walsh had died in February of 1932.9
