I, Richard Marshall (the Elder) of Burin Newfoundland now suffering from great weakness of body, but of sound mind and right judgement do at my death give and bequeath my two sons, John Marshall and Charles Marshall, the two meadows namely the one nearest little Salmonier to John and the next one immediately adjoining to Charles, and the next meadow including dwelling home Stable Garden from the Main Road to the Salt Water of Bay(?) divided by the Brook, west of Stable, unto Caroline and Margaret my children. The next meadow adjoining meaning the fourth from the East to the left vacant for the building of Stable or outhouses or other conveniences for the use of the farm, and not to be the special property of anybody, and the fifth meadow from the East to my daughter Rosannah, and the Sixth meadow to my son, George and the seventh and last to my daughter Isabella. This includes land now cleared and known as Meadows. The land East and West not cleared and not left to any of my children in particular, I leave in the hands of my two executors to dispose of or divide as they may think proper for benefit of my children to be given them or value thereof the above land is known as Bally Brady farm and situated at North east side of Burin Bay Arm. I also bequeath unto my grandaughter, Beatrice (of Richard) the piece of land next adjoining my son, Matthew, to the South west as marked in the grant of my Father's, and lastly I appoint John Winter and my nephew, John Marshall to be my true and lawful executors to carry out the condition of my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affix my seal this eighteenth day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and ninety seven.

Cause of death laryngeal diphtheria of 4 days duration. Attending physician was Dr. T. Watson, undertaker Snow & Co., burial in Mt. Olivet, Halifax.; Principal=Helen (Nellie) Bernadette Boudreau9
(Witness) Death8 December 1915 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; Death Registration states: Ronald Boudreau, male, died Dec. 8, 1915, aged 1 yr., 11 months, residing at 1 Granville St., Halifax, born Halifax, Catholic, son of Dennis Boudreau. Cause of death pneumonia and acute nephritis of 2 weeks duration. Attending physician was Dr. L. Miller, undertaker Snow & Co., burial in Mt. Olivet, Halifax.; Principal=Ronald Joseph Boudreau10
NoteApril 1919 In the military records of Dennis Boudreau, her husband, it states that she stopped receiving his War pay on April 1, 1919 and that his pay was sent to Mrs. Ernest Moignard of 10 Cunard Court, Halifax on May 1 (Mrs. Ernest Moignard was the sister of Rose). Rose had been living at 4 Cunard Court and had received his pay for the previous 3 years while he was Overseas with the Canadian Army. On the same form, there is a handwritten note that says "Mrs. Annie Murphy, guardian" - there is another word with guardian that I cannot read. It appears that Dennis left overseas on April 2, 1919 and would probably have arrived in Halifax about the middle of April. What had happened to Rose? Had she separated from him while he was away? Her daughter would have been just turning 15. I cannot find any of the family in the 1921 Census including the Moignard family.11
Note Dennis married again in 1922. I have not been able to find any Divorce or Annulment Records for Rose and Dennis and when he married in 1922, he stated he was a bachelor, not a "widower".
In the Estate Affadavit for Mary Madeline Boudreau, two of Isabel Marshall Moignard's grandchildren, Ernest Moignard III and Charles Longley, Jr. stated in 2001, that their grandmother often would visit a sister in the Sydney, Cape Breton area. Could this have been Rose? Charles Longley was born in 1935 and Ernest Moignard in 1926, so it seems that if it was Rose, that she would have been alive after 1933, when her daughter stated she had died.12
Deathcirca 1933 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; The only indication that I currently have of Rose's death is that her daughter stated in a 1940 record that her mother was deceased in Halifax at the age of 50.13
