This is a transcription of a newspaper announcement: Marriage of Joseph St. Croix of Holyrood, St. Mary's Bay and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Walsh. Marriage took place in the Roman Catholic Cathedral, in 1879, the bride was the daughter of J. P. Walsh of St. Mary's Bay (does that mean Justice of the Peace or is that his initials?). Anecdote1931 Nell went blind when she was 21 and lived her lifetime with her brother Vince and his family. She was adored by all who knew her especially nieces and nephews. She would take an occasional drink of beer and loved her cigarettes. We always included her in our parties which she thoroughly enjoyed. In spite of her handicap she sould knit gloves, socks, sweaters, etc. She also learned to weave straw baskets and make leather belts.- Bren St. Croix2
