Michael Patrick McLaughlin was born 1856 in St. Gabriel de Valcartier, son of John McLaughlin and Mary Hartery. Michael married Mary Conway born November 3, 1872 in Ste. Catherine, Quebec, daughter of James Conway and Ann McKenna on August 22, 1899. Right after the wedding Michael and Mary moved to Merrill WI where Michael was foreman for a logging company and worked with his brother Mark.
Michael and Mary had three children William C. born April 28, 1900 Merrill WI, William never married and was Postmaster in Merrill, WI. Elmer John born April 27, 1902 Merrill WI, married and had 3 children, two of whom we are in touch with today. Veronica M. McLaughlin was born in 1907 Merrill, WI and on the 1930 census she was still living at home at the age of 24. Last known address 209 East Second Street, Merrill WI.
