On this fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, before me Cyrille Renaud, Notary, residing at Loretteville, undersigned, personally appeared Mrs. Ellen Lannin, wife of Michael Holton, farmer, residing at St. Gabriel of Valcartier, who requested me the said Notary, to write down and receive in due form of law her last will and testament which she has declared in manner and form, that is to say:
1º I give and bequeath to my husband all my moveable and immoveable properties wherever the same may be found and to whatever the same shall amount, hereby constituting my said husband my universal legatee and the Executor of this my will and testament.
Done and passed at Valcartier under Notarial number seven thousand five hundred and eighty [six].
After the reading of the present will by the Notary to the Testatrix in presence of Thomas J. Billing and Thomas McBain, the Testatrix, the Notary and witnesses have signed in the presence of each other.

Notes by Patricia Balkcom: Ellen died 20 years after writing this will, in 1938, at the reported age of 73 years. She wrote this will on the day her husband died which is interesting because she left her estate to him. Did she write it in the morning and he died in the afternoon? They had no children.
