Note | This person is confusing as to her surname - she is named as Mary E. Slaney when she married John Hartstone and she is listed as a spinster. However, in the 1921 Census, they have a 10 year old child living with them, named Mary E. Long and she is identified as stepdaughter to John. This implies that Mary E. Slaney was previously married to a "Long" but as I said she is listed as a spinster and not widowed. Mary E. Long has the same first name as Mary E. Slaney and both are listed in the Census as being born in Fox Cove. I have added a "Long" marriage to her events but I do not know if this is accurate. I could not find such a marriage in a search for marriages using the surnames Long or Slaney. | |
