She was the wife of Edward B. Loughlin and daughter of the late William Bishop and Mary Ellen (Moriarty) Powers. She was the step-daughter of the late Carleton Coleman and the late Leo Powers.

Mrs. Loughlin was born in New York City October 28, 1923. After her father was lost at sea, as an infant, she moved to Nantucket where she resided for several years. She also resided in East Boston and Revere before moving to Fairhaven in 1941.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.

Mrs. Loughlin was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1942, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She had a great affection for her girlfriends on the team as well as her classmates and her school.

Mrs. Loughlin was a graduate of Kinyon Campbell Secretarial School and became an executive secretary at Goodyear Corp., Aerovox and Valor Manufacturing Company. She was previously employed as function manager at the New Bedford Hotel and later at the Holiday Inn in New Bedford. In her latter years, she worked for the Town of Fairhaven as a clerk in the Town Clerk's Office.

She was a member of the Fairhaven Town Hall Retirees and a former member of St. Joseph's Church Couples Club and the New Bedford Catholic Women's Club.

Mrs. Loughlin had a great devotion to her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Loughlin of Fairhaven and David Loughlin of Acushnet; two daughters, Christine Lodge and Maureen Gonzaga, both of Fairhaven; one sister, Myra Lopes of Fairhaven; ten grandchildren, Andrew Lodge of Aspen, Meredith Lodge, and her husband Justin, of South Hadley, Seamus Grace of Fall River, Jillian Grace of Fairhaven, Chelsea Loughlin and Brian Loughlin, both of Fairhaven and Attleboro, Lauren Gonzaga of Fairhaven, Peter Lobo, Zacharri Lobo and Aaron Lobo, all of Fairhaven; extended family members including Bernard Loranger, Wayne Lodge, Jean Endruschat, Kerry Grace and Doug Gonzaga; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was the sister of the late Gerald Bishop, Mary Jane Howland Dompierre and Elizabeth Powers.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday, May 7th at 8:45 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Visiting hours Tuesday, May 6th from 4-8 PM.

Interment Riverside Cemetery.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served his country honorably from December 1943 through May of 1945. Following his time in the service, Bill was employed with New England Telephone, where he retired following 35 years of dedicated work. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary, in 2008. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Broussard. His loving family includes two sons and a daughter; Richard Bishop of Wilmot, NH, James Bishop of Daytona Beach, FL, and Cathy Battye of Hudson, also 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visiting Hours: on Thurs., March 9th from 5pm -7pm in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., in HUDSON. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Fri., March 10th at 1pm in Infant Jesus Church, 121 Allds St. in Nashua, NH. Burial will be private."3
