Obituary11 January 2013 Penksa, Ann M. passed away peacfully January 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, John V Penksa, who was the "love of her life" for well over 66 years, their children; Barbara and Jesse Grow; Kathleen and Raul M (Butch) Perez; John E (Jack) and Jane Penksa; grandchildren; Keith and Carla Grow; Amy and Scott Tyner; Sweeten Penksa; Christian Perez; Audrey and Jake Hollingsworth; Raul (Beani) Perez; Micah and Shannon Perez; great-grandchildren; Kirby, Carlee, Kaylee and Clayton Grow; Mitchell Tyner; Markie, Veronica, Daniel, Kyra Perez and Anika Fournier. Ann was born on July 1, 1924 and was one of seven children born to Edward and Bridget Gushue in Boston, Mass. She met John in 1944 when he was in the Navy stationed in Boston and she was a member of the American Theater Guild entertaining the troops at the "Stage Door Canteen". John walked in and saw the most beautiful redhead up on the stage singing "I'm in the Mood for Love" with the "voice of an angel" and it was love at first sight. They were married on November 3, 1946 and moved to the Penksa farm in NJ where this city girl became a happy country girl and worked along with John to build their own house on three acres and gave their three children the most wonderful childhood and showed by example the true meaning of love and family values.
