Obituary24 April 2021 Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada; "Mabel Marina (Jesty) Wagner, loving wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, pass-ed away in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Monday, April 19, 2021, at the age of 86. Mabel leaves behind her husband, Cyril; sons, Raymond (Anne), and Brian (Wendy Sue); grandchildren, Jennifer (Pat Murphy), Lisa (Phil Moreira), Maria, Courtney (David Campbell), Drew, Kristina (Sean Hornbuckle), Jillian and Jeanna; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Archie; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Bruce; daughter-in-law, Nancy; parents, Frank and Charlotte (Farrell) Jesty; and brothers, Cecil and Reginald. In earlier years, Mom was a dedicated volunteer for several organizations including the Sydney Curling Club and an active member of Nova Heights Co-Op. An avid knitter, many of her hats, mitts and socks made their way to patients in hospitals and every grandchild remembers a cozy knitted sweater. Mom spent many happy years travelling to Florida and spent summers at Ben Eoin Beach with her many close friends. A gracious and gregarious host, her home in Sydney and the trailer at Ben Eoin Beach were open to all, and Mom was happiest when her table was filled with hungry guests. Mom's wonderful sense of humour and laughter will be deeply missed, and family dinners will never be the same without her. Mom had many wonderful friends who brought such great joy into her world, you know who you are! Forever in our hearts, we miss you and love you dearly. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Words of comfort can be sent to the family: www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail: sydneymemorial [email protected]"2
