David was born in Worcester September 14, 1959 and lived his entire life in Grafton where he became known as “Putt”, “Chuck” or “Dave”. By trade, Dave was a Master Plumber. Away from work he loved the outdoors where he would go fishing and camping whenever he could. Closer to home you were likely to see him out for a ride on his motorcycle, watching the Boston Red Sox or old movies. All are welcome to gather with David’s family at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA, June 16th. Viewing hours are 9:30-11:00am with a prayer service at 11:00am. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother and uncle Alexander "Alex" Quirk, age 76, on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at his residence.
Born in North Sydney on January 2, 1933, Alex was the son of the late Alexander and Florence (Hunt) Quirk. In his earlier years he worked as a bellman at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto and then later as caretaker at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #19 in North Sydney until his retirement, and was also associate member of the branch. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
He is survived by his two sisters, Florence MacGuire, Yorkton, Sask., and Madeleine Rouleau, Ajax, ON; two brothers Michael Quirk, North Sydney, and Gervais (Ruth) Quirk, Howie Center and a number of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Myrna; his brothers, George and Bill Quirk and sisters, Ava Robinson, Josephine Bond, Gladys Campbell, Agnes Hall, Sue Keeping and Margaret Perry.
Visitation for Alex will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or a charity of choice.

Obituary31 October 2012 David Michael Quirk – 52, of Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, passed away October 30, 2012 in the QEII Hospital Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Born in Ajax Ontario in 1960, he was the son of David Gervaise Quirk, and Ida Ruth Quirk (Bragg).
David was the 5th child in a large family of 14 siblings. Growing up in Balls Creek, Nova Scotia David developed his larger than life personality allowing him to make quick friendships and a lasting impression on all of those he met. Joining the Canadian Army in 1978, David enjoyed a successful career serving at various bases in both Canada and overseas with NATO and the UN. While serving in Germany he met his wife Karen Lillian Quirk. On September 10, 1983, David and Karen were married and raised two children Adam and Angela. Retiring from the Army with the rank of Warrant Officer in 2006, David began a career with Defence Research and Development Canada.
David was a loving husband and father who loved life and rose to meet all challenges at home and the workplace. He was a councillor, bookkeeper, human resource officer, and travel agent. David excelled at many hobbies including running, weight lifting, woodworking and gardening. David used all of his strength and experience to help all of those in need including his family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours. He was defined by his sense of humour coupled with his "can do" attitude which complimented his strong positive character.
Survived by his wife: Karen Lillian (Reece) Quirk his wonderful son and daughter: David Adam Quirk and Angela Marie Quirk, his mother: Ida Ruth Quirk, his six sisters: Pamela Patricia Hillier, Heather Joanne Baumle, Yvette Ruth Field, Sonya Charmaine Quirk, Tanya Nicole Noel, Stephanie Lynn Quirk and seven brothers: Gower Joseph Quirk, Paul Derrick Quirk, Gervaise Christopher Quirk, Sheldon Eugene Quirk, Brent Rogers Quirk Nelson Quentin Quirk and several uncles, aunts, cousins, several nieces/nephews.
Predeceased by his Father David Gervaise Quirk, and Brother Alexander John Quirk.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Sunday November 4th at, NS at 4:30, followed by a reception in the funeral home.2
